You can be sure that Obama has consulted with Robert Rubin, who was at GS before becoming Treasury Secretary under Clinton.

I don't think he will keep Paulson in place. My read is that he will not Paulson go until there is a good transition plan on the Treasury side. And he will let Paulson take the lead. Does not mean that Obama's team will have to agree to everything that Paulson takes the lead in proposing.
