So even if my some miracle the government ends up in the black they aren't giving you the benefit, they are using it to house crack addicts.

Not funding the bailout would result in a lot more "affordable housing" as RE prices would decline in any widespread washout. What they want to do is provide government subsidies for "unaffordable" housing.
