Which ones did you have in mind? The Newt post by Elroy (10 recs) was full of astonishing nonsense, along with some good points. Most of the posts are more along the lines of Kunstler, who, again makes some good observations, but mostly seems to enjoy the prospects of the cleansing effects of a really nice trainwreck. While there might well be some good cleansing effects from that, I suspect there are better approaches.
