What was most interesting wasn't his recommendation but his 'why's' (not to be confused with 'wise') behind it:

a) if Paulson's plan is enacted by Congress, it will be highly inflationary, thus buy gold!

b) if Paulson's plan is rejected, all bets are off, thus nowhere to hide, thus buy gold!

pretty direct for a CNBC talking head
