I assume you mean SIL - AMEX. I think it is just a delayed reaction to the silver price. Look at SSRI price movement yesterday. Also, my recollection is that SIL is heavily exposed to Bolivia, a dangerous place to be politically.

Edit. Maybe you did mean SIL - v. Ouch! I think that would be a back flip if you flip it.
