If they intend to buy these illiquid assets at close to maturity value, they never had any intention to turn them over and reuse the same $700 billion. They would need to buy them at discount so they could off them into someone willing to take the risk. Treasury is flat out lying and someone in Congress needs to point that out.

What's going on with FRE and FNM, up 55% and 65% today during regular hours? Each higher AH.

Is it unwinding of ITM puts that can't go short and settle Wednesday?

Or a short squeeze? FRE was always selling for less than FNM but for parts of today it was higher.
