Yes, I've heard it, and it's true.

Interestingly, there is a trend in trauma surgery to give IV fluids very sparingly in patients with
penetrating trauma and internal bleeding. It turns out that by flooding the vascular system with IV fluid
to keep the blood pressure normal seems to just make the bleeding worse.
