in a market where cash is king and strong cash flow a close second ... AMAT would seem to be a safe haven. But ... all the money that could be used for cap investment is no going to bail outs and the room left for other investments is going to be pretty tough to tap.

I'd prefer that $700 billion go to buy 'made in America' solar panels, windmills and electrically powered cars. Create American jobs, solve an important energy issue and get a leg up in a worldwide business where the US has been lagging for decades. Capitalize the people that will change the economy, not the ones who abused it.
