You are way too ideological to understand. You have given up on the American Dream. Maybe you are right... some people don't think so. 1000's waited in line for hours in the FL sun with me today to hear a guy that doesn't think so. I'll go with them.

I haven't given up on the American Dream, I'm living it and have been for years. Yes, Obama drew a small crowd today -- not 60k as Palin did last week.

As to Palin, at least she isn't making blunders like not knowing who was president at the time of the Depression (and for that matter, thinking there was television in use at the time).

Speaking of the NYT, McCain and Fannie Mae.... Here's something from 5 years ago.

New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae

query.nytimes.com.

So was there ever a New Agency to oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae?

And of course everyone is probably now familiar of this:

"I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole."

John McCain - May 25, 2006
