Bush wanted to tighten oversight with a new regulatory board for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other government recipients for the express purpose of addressing bad loan practices and the Democrats blocked it.

Was this around the time clinton was getting it on with monica...point is this was during the clinton white house and it just seems a lot of very bad decisions happen during democrat rule.
