Gotta love it. Repubs have had Congress for 12 of the past 14 years. The White House for the past 8. 7 of the 9 Supremes have been appointed by Republicans. To the extent this 'crisis' is a fault of regulators, its overwhelmingly Republicans who push for less regulation and are pretty lax on enforcement (see Enron). So it must be the Dems fault! Of course, any mortgage taken out in prior to 2001 is probably in very good shape. Never ceases to amaze me what lies people tell themselves. But to do it in public, jeez. How embarrassing
