"a Republican proposal supported by McCain" McCain was silent throughout the meeting until Obama forced him to comment. McCain referred to others with no comment of his own. He ain't got squat to do with it. Just a dog and pony show lead by a soccer mom and an extreme fear of debating Obama.

If it were me, I'd go to Mississippi tomorrow and sit in the chair and repeat...."I'm here. Where's my opponent?"

The main credit/borrowing issue is for companies including banks borrowing in the commercial paper market. That's what the crisis is all about at this point and why a lot of the proposed alternative solutions like helping mortgage borrowers don't do much to solve the problem.
