I have no idea why the Dems are sticking with it. They have a lemming-like death wish, I guess.....

i think the dems bot the paulson panic and embraced it early, deciding that they could 'claim credit' for fixing what the bush admin wrought on the campaign trail a win/win for them (if the plan bombs they can claim later paulson waited much too long, and they were given a plan that was much too late, oh well, at least they tried..shrug)....

strangely enough in an election year(/sarc)...the repubs started seeing the taxpayer indignation and decided 'not so fast' deciding maybe going along with the paulson panic might not such a good idea after all, iow, something needs to be done,.... but cooler heads should prevail....take some time and fix it right (markets not cratering is giving them credence, the perils of paulson don't seem to be materializing quite the way he predicted)

yet, according to feinstein, she has over 50K phones and faxes OPPOSING the paulson plan, but she lemming-like insists she must support it
