I wonder if that wasn't the design all along. Propose something so heinous, so vile, so terrible that the country rises into an outrage against Bush/Paulson. Sign on the Dems. Then let McSame come riding to the rescue with guns blazing. Obama could have taken the opportunity to bury the Pubs on this, but he missed his chance. Now McSame is our savior. What better way to demonstrate his "independence" from W? And the Pubs get another four years of rape and pillage economics. `BC
