the dual 'mandate' of the fed, price stability (keeping inflation in check) and economic 'growth' have be been proven mutually exclusive....loose monetary policy always trumps price stability and the misallocation of capital created thereby leads to boom/bust scenarios that cannot be undone by more of the same, it will just send the money chasing the next bubble
