If he were to lay the Dr. Davis line on his patients 1) he wouldn't have time for anything else 2) most of his patients would ignore him and/or think he was crazy.

I agree. It took me a year after my Heart Scan to get serious about losing weight. Which is more than half the battle if you want to beat the problem.

Almost all of them seem to be sending their patients out the door with a statin and a baby aspirin. They know full well that statins mainly affect LDL and will do little or nothing for HDL or Triglycerides.

The value of Niacin and Fish oil is well established by Medical Studies. I can see that they don't know about Vitamin D, it's value against heart disease is still not been established by major studies. But they should be telling them to get on these two supplements. I read posts from patients daily who not only have not been put on these two, but in some cases, were told they were of dubious value and even not to take them.

My primary doctor had no interest in my supplement list, and I have just kept him out of the picture on them. Fortunately, due to my recent removal of a tumor on my kidney, I am getting a full lab report on my liver function twice a year, and this keeps down any worry about my 1500mg of Niacin daily.
