"In the gay marriage debate, it is the conservative who is imposing his will on the liberal.. "

As with many other things. But, that is different.

Al, let me take a step back and try again.

Everyone tries to impose their values on someone else. The whole "nuance" over public vs. private is bunk, because no one lives exclusively in one domain or the other.

Its liberal judges imposing their liberal moral values on society in the gay marriage debate.

And in public schools where its legal to indoctrinate children in moral values different than their families.

And on Main street, where liberal judges and liberal "human rights commissions" force Christian business people to serve the cause of gay marriage.

And in the field of social services where, in MA anyway, the Catholic church can no longer arrange adoptions - something they'd been doing essentially forever.
