So what is your minimum material value that would distinguish a Ponzi Scheme from your Matrix Scheme?

Something of value. Something with a market. Commodity. Service. Product. A grain of sand, to my knowledge, at present, has no marketability. That said, tomorrow, someone may come up with a "pet grain of sand" item that may sell millions. Until that day, a grain of sand is worthless. In a Matrix scheme, there is a marketable item, just not enough to go around.

Very little in life is "pure" anything, and the ability to see through obfuscation is pretty useful.

Yes but in the case which I believe you are citing, it wasn't the product itself, it was the company's claim that you would become rich selling it that made it illegal. The scheme otherwise, was really just an MLM.
So I guess I am seeing through yours.
