Hi P1976,

Visualize a world of commuters driving PHEV (plug in hybrid electric vehicles) that most often run on only electricity.

They will be for sale in less than 24 months GM and Chrysler have already announced these..

Then visualize a vehicle that runs on hydrogen and never NEVER uses a petroleum product.

The demand curve for oil is already going down - the preference of fuel efficient vehicles changed drasticly last April May.

When a fuel efficient vehicle is bought it stays in the ecosphere for years and displaces in general a less efficient vehicle.Old technolgy replaced by better old technology.

These vehicles exist - I've driven both and they are being tooled up right now.

Opec will soon be selling oil to the emerging markets as the developed will incentivise and crave the new modern technology.

Emerging markets will still use oil based vehicles.

Add to that a bridge of domestic oil devlopment within the USA.

We used the world's when it was cheap.

When it was expensive we displaced it with technology and lastly we'll develope our own for security purposes and not really put a dent in it.

Hick ups in between no doubt - but not far from what will happen.

Part of oils decline in price will be new proven technologies that exract more oil from old wells.

The decommissioning rate of old wells has been all but eliminated with new techniques that extract oil and make money at today's prices.

This adds to supply and when combined with all of the substantial exploration that has occurred in the last 3-4 years (driven by today's higher prices).

Not sure about 40 dollar oil but I believe 70-80 is in the bag.

JMHO

Bob
