you don't understand the bailout. It is completely centered around DEBT, and an act that was passed by a republican house and senate in 2000 and 2002.

Its not that we had a housing bubble and bust. The issue is that this form of DEBT was created which is highly leveraged and allowed to be swapped.

That was stupid of Pelosi to say...why do people allow them to lie?

Nancy Pelosi. She says the Democrats share absolutely none of the blame for the current financial goings-on.

First of all I don't believe she said that because you said so without a quote. Republicans are famous for mis-quoting people.

2nd of all the righty talking points trying to pass off blame on to the democrats are mostly false. For example your point looking at the "community investment act" or legislation under Carter for God's sake and trying to say that those things are responsible for the mess we have today.

There is only one question about that accusation. How many of the loans now in default were made at that time???? I bet it is a VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE of the loans in default now. The majority of the loans in default were originated in the last few years. The policies that effected those loans were the policies passed under the republican majority. The biggest problem as I see it is the comoditization of housing debt in to CDOs and CMOs which came in to being on a massive scale under republican leadership. That fact you cannot change.
