I think what I like best about Palin is a middle class attitude that has long been ignored. As to whether Palin satisfies liberals aiming to take her down or satisfies elitists that question her ability, I take much more solace in the common sense she brings to the table.

I think for every person like you there are a bunch who wouldn't have bothered going to vote for McCain who will now.

I agree with that. But things change.

Palin was clearly a fairly cynical political move designed to fire up the base and attract women voters who don't care for Obama because he ousted Hillary, qualifications, experience, etc., be damned.

If your view of politics is win at all costs, it was a terrific move on McCain's part. If, on the other hand, you think as I do that this transcends politics and that he had an obligation, given his age, to pick someone a lot more qualified, then it was a terrible thing.

And given her performance thus far, the choice might turn out to hurt him.

We'll see.
