Hopefully-the World still runs on fossil fuels. Efficiency would
help (a lot), but hydrogen has to be produced (currently) by
burning fossil fuels. US just happens to have the World biggest
supply of coal, about 700 years worth at current level of
consumption, so that's a good thing. By the way, you can liquify
it and make it into cheap gas <G>

I am in agreement. It is my belief that we will see Alternative Energy (AE) in the near future that makes our current system and paradigm (forgive me for using such an overused word) look ridiculous. I am a strong believer in the innovation of the human being. We have been gifted with the most amazing minds that can deal with the most difficult of problems. What that technology is I have no clue. I do not believe we have seen it yet although we may have touched upon it with our current technology. (I don't think VLNC is the answer but maybe they will be the one's that get us to the next step). Anyway, I agree with the other poster that said stick around. A little optimism these days goes along way.
