How long did it take us to recover from the dot-com burst? Much faster than anyone imagined.

Although I don't expect yet another quick recovery, I think four years ought to be enough to work off some of the excesses and imbalances in the global economy. After that, there will be too much pent-up pressure among the bulls to hold back.
