The ratio of gold to currency + M1, M2, and M3 in the Hew Hess of Hay is 45 to one. in dollars.

Ratio of gold to currency is about 4 to one.

Ratio of currency dollars to # of ounces is 3248 to one.

To all money it is perhaps 44,000 to 50,000 to one.

We could easily back currency with gold and it would boost the economy mightily.

Backing ALL money with gold would be a bit more dicey.

I think this monetary crisis is a tempest in a teapot. All consumer loans ain't worth more than 800 billion. A 700 billion bail bucket should hold that handily.

I hope.
