I don't think Palin is going anywhere

I think Karl Rove has already given up on the Presidential race. Palin wasn't picked to appeal to Hillary fans, she was picked to infuriate and distract Hillary fans, and to attract the right-wing base. That won't win McCain an election, but it will get the right wing to the polls where they will also vote in congressional races as well as local issues. This way Rove will try to keep a foundation for future elections.

Rove's plans don't always work.
I think most right-wingers will use the secret ballot to vote their economic interests this time around.
