Completely wrong Dave. MAD forced the Soviets to match and even at times exceed us in military expenditures for forty years, despite having a much weaker economy and a much more feeble GDP. Eventually, the hardships imposed on their citizens was just too much to sustain. Ronnie Ray Gun was there to claim credit.

Get a clue or don't bother.
