Well it is definitely interesting times. I submit the issue is the fact that they are being forced to mark to market - ie the accounting rule change. Sounds to me like they didn't think that one thru.

I don't consider it too much punishment to expect the clowns that got away with millions to have to forgo that money in order to access taxpayer money. Seems like a reasonable request.

How about another solution, if they have to mark to market, let the homeowner buy back his mortgage if he so chooses. Heck if they would sell it to me at 50 cents on the dollar, I would do that.
