We have an election on now and the surplus is evaporating ... Likely our best fiscal shot is if the Conservatives get re-elected.. as a minority..

Our debt levels are much better... no doubt ...not nearly as good as they appear though when you consider how the deficit was tamed, at the expense of municipalities' and provincial budgets.. We are sorely in need of massive infrastructure spending...

What might totally change my mind is if our financial sector picks up a lot of choice US assets.. and we are transformed into a global financial powerhouse (Now that's outside the box :o)

Where has the loonie been since its temporary moonshot to the the 1.10 level ? ... despite oil hitting almost 150...

I'm not looking for massive appreciation here, see my post to Condor, but I don't see a big USD vs loonie depreciation either..
