Yes Intel will suffer if the doomsday economic scenario does indeed come about. Several companies will go bust outright, and particularly the weak ones. And a lot of people will lose their jobs and unemployment will skyrocket. Luckily my Intel holdings are down as much as my non-Intel holdings, and about the same as the general market. Luckily I am not on margin and can ride it out. If the doomsday scenario does indeed happen, the weak competitors will not survive, and the stronger companies will indeed end up with a larger market share. So at the end of it all, it will be OK.
