There's a good reason Congress has a lower approval rating than the President by a large margin.

They have said, ENOUGH is ENOUGH

They sure have. By all accounts that I've read the ratio of against/for in calls and letters to congress-critters is 200 to 1. Even allowing for people to be ten times as likely to voice disapproval as approval it still leaves 20:1 against.

My guess is that those who voted against the Paulson Heist are standing for re-election and would really quite like to keep their seats.

Paulson claims that nobody will lend but that is a lie. The "problem" is that would be borrowers aren't willing to pay the present real interest rates. Borrowers in America have been so used to negative real interest rates that they can't comprehend that real MARKET interest rates have taken a huge jump. The world is awash with cash, there is no "liquidity crisis" that is just a lie made up by Paulson to give him an excuse to transfer $700 billion MORE(he's already done quite a bit) to his mates.

Another lie is that CDOs can't be sold at any price.

BULLSHIT

They can't be sold at the prices the present holders want. I will buy a million dollars worth at $100 per $1,000,000
face value. That is I am willing to spend a million dollars to buy 10 billion face value. I do not need to finance this deal, the money is waiting.

Anyway great post Neeka, I guess it will be your last on this board as this will mine.

Very well said. Thanks in part to the efforts of the much maligned Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and the rest of talk radio, conservatives have finally realized that they can directly influence inane voting by congress. Hopefully this activist trend by conservatives will grow. One thing for sure, with the devious dems in charge of the congress we dare not take our eyes of them for a second.
