Who's paying for them now?

We need to put money into the hands of people who have debts to pay - That will clear the system.

You like Bush's plan to have the government buy 3 million houses? Then what? They sit and rot in the rain?

Put people who want the houses and will live in them and take care of them into a position where they can buy them.

That will actually solve this crisis.
