Time to address the crisis

We need to address more than the crisis, we need to address the underlying problem. The hedge-funds and investment banks must be required to hold adequate margin, perhaps 50%. They can just sit on their securities and collect what payments are still being made until they have enough money to start playing games again.

You're right. The rich will not be hurting either way.

And the chances are that they are all going to be thinking your way and pass something soon.

But if they pass anything that does not have actual oversight (this bill has laughable oversight by all appointees) and some way of guaranteeing that this is net zero to the taxpayer over the long run then it is a travesty.

The thing that is the most damnable about this whole thing is that the money that we print represents a debt to the Federal Reserve that we the taxpayer must pay interest on. We should not be paying interest to the Federal Reserve on the money that we use to bail out the federal Reserve.
