The democrats as the article read put together a bill which they wanted the republicans to pass instead of putting together a bill which was good.

Not that there's not enough of an absence of leadership in DC the entire democrat party proves just how afraid to lead they are. This is also a glaring reflection of what drives them.... Were they worried that the bill was a good bill? NO The biggest issue for them was passing the bill (which the dems could have done by themselves), without the GOP being on board. The very essence of being chickensh#t... Thank God that there's still Republicans and some Democrats that vote for whats right, not what's just going to get them reelected.....

Journalism is dead in the USA---those who don't partake of alternative sources for their information receive nothing but a daily diet of liberal horse manure. Hopefully tonight's senate vote will take place only after the following earmarks have been removed:

The Senate bill is stuffed with earmarks to grease its passage. (from michellemalkin.com)

- Film and Television Productions (Sec. 502)
- Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503)
- 6 page package of earmarks for litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident, Alaska (Sec. 504)

Tax earmark “extenders” in the bailout bill.
- Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)
- American Samoa (Sec. 309)
- Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310)
- Mine Safety Equipment (Sec. 311)
- Domestic Production Activities in Puerto Rico (Sec. 312)
- Indian Tribes (Sec. 314, 315)
- Railroads (Sec. 316)
- Auto Racing Tracks (317)
- District of Columbia (Sec. 322)
- Wool Research (Sec. 325)
