Curly, We're not worthy!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to investigate this rumor. With the serious investigating you are doing, I would assume you have a good amount of mullah riding on this one.

I wish the best of luck to you and your mullah!

Two reactions to this idiotic Komatsu business (in addition to my own thanks for your follow-up to squelch it). First, so what? 21 lasers? Even it were true, it wouldn't hurt Cymer much and whoever bought the stepper would have to pay, in chip margin, for the lowered throughput.

Second, I see Coherent, not Komatsu, as the only remotely realistic threat to Cymer. Coherent has coyly issued a carefully-worded press release that does not say, but can be read to imply, that they are coming out with some sort of DUV breakthrough in the next few weeks. I'll try to find the link but I think it been posted here before. Basically, it consists of a paragraph talking in general terms about LP's DUV research, followed later by a statement that the reader should watch for a big announcement in the next couple of weeks. But you have to believe that LP is working hard to compete in the 193nm arena, at least. Always smart to keep an eye on possible competition.

The Nasdaq is up 17.70 points and Cymer is down. Are MM trying one last scare before earnings? What a buy at this level.
