Timber REITs and companies focused on owning trees instead of processing them.

PCH, PCL, DEL, RYN all made 52 wk highs in the last month I think.

Some people group timber with other commodities, but I think it really is more unique than that. Some large endowment funds like Yale, Harvard, etc. invest directly in timber to further diversify their portfolios... and it works.

I think timber is cool because it's a real asset like other commodities, but it also keeps growing in value if you just let it sit there unused. Imagine if you owned some gold ounces and over time they grew more gold ounces...

Yes, but what about the risk? Is it really worth taking it in this environment or is it better to take your lumps in the harder assets?
