Yes.

Are you claiming that happened?

I am claiming that Ifill stands to make at least $350,000 from Obama being elected (this line of thought was stolen from Dick Morris, but he is precisely correct).

Would a murder trial end in a mistrial if it was discovered a juror was writing a book about the trial or had received a book advance about it? Of course.

This is why people are so upset about it. Greta was just talking about her email box being full with emails from attorneys who are pointing out this is an absolute and clear conflict of interests. As she pointed out, any attorney would view it as such.

The standards for ethical conduct in every profession require that one not only act in an ethical manner, but that one must avoid any appearance of impropriety. Personally, I believe Ifill will be fair. But the appearance of impropriety is there.

There is no doubt this is a conflict of interests. None at all, if you talk to anyone who is a member of any organization with a code of professional ethics. Unfortunately, no such code exists for journalists.
