(NASDAQ: KRAN) announced today that a major advertising campaign has been launched on behalf of the Gran Reserve line of hand made cigars, with full page ads booked for Cigar Aficionado and N.Y. Smoker magazines in November and two-page spreads in Smoke and Smoke Shop contracted for every issue in 1998. Gran Reserve Cigars is a vertically integrated cigar producer. The company develops its own tobacco seeds, cures tobacco leaves used for cigar construction, grows premium cigar wrappers and manufactures the cedar packing boxes and handmade cigars in its own factories in the Dominican Republic. Gran Reserve Cigars has developed a wide variety of handmade cigar styles and blends, ranging from top of the line long filler products to value priced short filler cigars. Krantor will broker these products to various classes of trade using its extensive retail industry contacts to service traditional outlets as well as create new market opportunities. Gran Reserve Cigars is also considering several proposals to produce private label brands in order to optimize its manufacturing capacity in the Dominican Republic. Krantor has an exclusive arrangement to market all of the lines made by Gran Reserve Cigars which includes the Suarez, Breton, Don Otilio and Andulleros brands featured in the advertising campaigns, as well as several new brands that are being developed.
