Depends on how you define 'large'....

(Personally --- aside from the excessive leverage that collapsed *their own businesses* --- I'd venture to say that whatever 'role' they played in helping to inflate the Greenspan-era liquidity bubble, and the current financial crisis that is upon us, pales in significance to such factors as AIG's Trillions in Credit Default Swaps... or the repeal of Glass Steagal... or Phil Gramm's legislation which banned federal regulation of the CDS markets, etc.)
