Don't tell me that you don't know that gold is accumulated as a store of value by individuals and a reserve currency by some central banks.

Gold is up against everything in the last 8 years... only oil has outperformed. Now gold is sarting to outperform this one as well.

Electrical, anti corrosion gilding, electronic, monetary, ice cream, coinage, jewelry, reflective coatings for heat and radiation resistant materials. (thermal protection glass coating for buildings.) Dentistry, photography, solder, military hardware, medical prostheses, gold paint, music CD's, antigen carrier (medicine), cancer and athritis medicines, SEM mounts, aerospace lubricant and reflective thermal coatings.

A small amount of gold is used in almost every sophisticated electronic device. This includes: cell phones, calculators, personal digital assistants, global positioning system units and other small electronic devices. Most large electronic appliances such as television sets also contain gold.

You have to admit it is nice looking. It is the only metal I have ever observed that will actually make people smile.
