while we must pity the leveraged players, we must also remember that the officialdoms around the world, to varying degrees, have made all of us leveraged players

and so, as much as we can, opt out by buyinggold remains a constant recommendation

thankfully, buying opportunity coming up again :0)

This is banks' bailout, not economy bailout. The economy will 'bailout' itself over the next decade or so.
