Committee spokesman Alex Conant credited the haul to the strength of John McCain and Sarah Palin. The figure is a reminder that, despite her recent slip-ups, Palin injected an extraordinary boost into the GOP grass roots. The next best month for the RNC was in October of 2000, when they raised $43 million.

A rolling average is the average of the last few days of polls... But Real Clear Politics leans right, and cherry picks its polls.
