RNC shatters monthly fundraising record

The RNC raised nearly $66 million in September, breaking its all-time record.

Committee spokesman Alex Conant credited the haul to the strength of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

The figure is a reminder that, despite her recent slip-ups, Palin injected an extraordinary boost into the GOP grass roots.

The next best month for the RNC was in October of 2000, when they raised $43 million.

Spokesman-Review editor resigns as "devastating" cuts are announced

My neighbor quit them and resumed as VP of a books on CD/mp3 business that he helped start some years ago. The Spokesman Review isn't worth reading. It's only slightly less partisan than the free bird cage floor called "The Inlander." The only thing good about either is the movie section.

I'm beginning to wonder if there are any decent newspapers left in the entire country.....the ST is bad, and has had the 2nd round of layoffs, now Spokane, and saw the Charlotte NC paper (McClaskey)....worse that these first two, and that's saying something...
