Well Tianjin already seems very booming. Especially on the way coming in from Beijing there are huge areas under construction mainly of high rise apartments. You don't see any old cars here :) Unlike Australia :P Air quality here in Tianjin is pretty good too, in the Beijing area it was pretty bad when we arrived though. To compare it to other countries I've been, generally Tianjin in terms of standard of living etc. in the areas I've been reminds me of Tel Aviv but maybe 10-20 years ago would be about right (cleaner though!). There are a lot more people riding bicycles though. But that's a good thing :) Some things remind me of Europe a little more - building style etc. Though I know it is just the Chinese style... Well I'll be happy to answer anyone's questions of my impressions on either thread when I log in.
