Had it been 8 years ago, Palin might have fooled a lot of people. Not so much now."

That is probably the most important change since then. In fact, the folksy, "would you want to have a beer with them?" criteria may be a detriment

That and her lack of awareness of the issues and her general disinterest in the world. I found her blatant lying and play acting really annoying as the evening progressed.

As you know, I look to intrade to see the reaction of the markets to the debate. Last nite's debate has had little impact at intrade.......Obama is up by more than a point today and McCain is down by about the same amount.

For me, Palin's debating style is a lot like junk food. It tastes pretty good going down but once it gets into your stomach, it doesn't feel nearly as good. When the debates finished last nite, I figured that Palin had done a credible job but once I started thinking about her open decision to answer only the questions she wanted to answer or when she actually did answer a question, using the brief answer as a way to migrate to a topic with which she was more comfortable, her folksy mannerisms and finally the blatant lies, and all I feel today is a lot of irritation. Sure I am an Obama supporter but the way I feel today is beyond where I am politically. Its feeling like someone tried to play me for a fool. And no one likes to feel they've been played that way. If others are feeling the same way, then Palin lost big time!
