I never liked those movies. To pretentious and not like organized crime. However, they did try to copy the movie in real life. Gotti used to put a roll of quarters in the juke box at restaurants and play the Theme as if it were on a loop. A real picture of the mafia shows a bunch of gossiping groups who more often then not fingered the wrong guy out of paranoia and executed them. If it weren't for all the families placing hits on their own people, there would have been fewer snitches.
