I agree with you. I think people also discount AMAT's growth because it is in a cyclical industry.

Companies like Coke and Microsoft consistenly deliver 15 % in case
of Coke or 30 to 50 % in case of Microsoft. AMAT on the other hand
depends on the boom and bust cycles of the semiconductor industry which is why it trades at a lower multiple and will always do so.

Brian, Your views are the views which I expressed in October '96 the time I bought AMAT at 26.625. The brokers were saying then that the stock was over valued--then when it went up a few jumped on board and bought. IMO we should make a tape and replay it back to them when they call.
