Stephen, I don't think that the thread was used as a news source for yesterday's article. Although the article mentioned widespread aticipation, I don't think that the reference was to this thread. At least 4 of the 5 brokerage houses (Lehman Brothers, Roberston Stephens, Hambrecht & Quist, and Bear Stearns) that cover LGND put out reiterated BUYS on LGND either just before the the ALRI buyback announcement or just after. All of these reports as well as several wire service reports (including the Robinson interview by Reuter's) discussed the diabetes deal as did Jesse Eisinger's earlier report on LGND, which did mention the thread, so it was clearly "widely anticipated".
