IMHO - In general deflationary mostly because big ticket items including housing, but as far as food is concerned inflationary.

What worries me is the Banana Republic type of swings in asset classes

As to what happened, I am quite sorry for Bush J., his intentions where good but WS screwed him big time and his choices of Heads of the Treasury where very bad. Congress pushing for a home to every American without proper oversight was also bad policy. Now is their time to legislate return of the bounty WS types cashed in.

The truth is that the high leverage is not only a US problem every one has done it and as extravaganza goes just look at Dubai - fantasy land - waiting to crash

The most dangerous event will be Putin entering Ukraine he already is meddling in internal politics in Ukraine and issued veiled treats – if he will make a move - then it will be the end of the world as we know it.
