Well that si why you got the wrong image of actual Russia - you fell into their propaganda net. I was sold also in my early age, thinking they are the greatest nation on earth. Meet over the weekend some one who grew there into adulthood - he was shocked about the changes Putin introduced - reminiscent of Stalin with his personality cult. Many other business contacts came back in shock recently - and those are Russian who grew there and are doing business there. (I go by memories and what I saw done to my parents and the brainwash I received). Strongly advise to get on an Russian TV channel controlled by Putin with translation - then you will realize how bad it is - see the movies they present now!!
