No, I didn't miss that. It was a coherent and factual response. Not some disconnected sound bites.

Yes, he dodged the question. One of the few that I know of. Palin, on the other hand, dodges most questions. In fact, she has complained that some of the interviewers didn't let her dodge. Like it was unfair of them to do that.

Yes. When Ayers was a terrorist, Obama was a wee child and didn't know him. Now that he's rehabilitated and in the upright citizens brigade, Obama has crossed his path a few times, since they live in the same neighborhood. Seems totally cogent and relative to ME.

Of course, I'm not desperately grasping for ways to smear Obama by (faint) association!
